Refugees often suffer from poor dental health due to a lack of access to professional dental care, limited diet, and in some cases, torture. In Massachusetts, refugees are eligible for free dental care through Medicaid. However, many refugees are unaware of this benefit or struggle to find dentists who accept Medicaid.

At Smiles for Refugees,  we recognized this gap and took action.  We compiled a comprehensive list of dentists in Massachusetts who accept Medicaid and developed a platform to facilitate connections between refugees and these dental providers. With all the burdens that refugees have coming to the United States, we didn’t want dental care to be one of them.
